Description

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work day shifts in a 12-bed neuroscience stepdown unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate level
• 13-week assignment with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for patients transferring from Neuro ICU, neuro trauma cases, subarachnoid/intraventricular/intracerebral hemorrhage patients, ENT cancer patients post-tumor resection and flap reconstruction, post-operative spine patients, and various neurological conditions
• Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with daily census of 10
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience
• BSN preferred
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Up to 40 hours of requested time off can be approved per contract
• Must have Virginia license in hand by Wednesday before start date (can submit with pending license)
• Nursys verification required for submittal
• References required
• Skills include neuro stepdown care, TR band management, IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, lumbar drains, post-TPA care, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, telemetry monitoring, and various neurological procedures

The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and various other specialized services. The unit focuses on caring for patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgery, neuro trauma, stroke cases, spinal cord injuries, and head and neck tumor resections, providing advanced care in a collaborative healthcare environment.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
