Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 day shifts including weekdays, every other weekend, holidays within contract
• Must be willing to float to other units including Med/Surg, Telemetry, ER Holding with appropriate ratios (1:6-1:7 on Med/Surg)
• No block scheduling available
• Typical patient ratios are 1:4, sometimes 1:5
• 24 hours of orientation required
• Must be EPIC proficient with no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS via American Heart Association, NIHSS
• 2 years of experience required (3+ years preferred), travel experience preferred
• Skills required: ventilators, IV start, telemetry, PA lines, conscious sedation, neuro IV titration, insulin IV experience, strong neuro experience
• Care for general stepdown patients including pulmonary, cardiac, sepsis, minor trauma, CIWA, DKA, and some surgical patients
• EKG testing required with 80% or higher pass rate (one attempt, no remediation)
• 3 hours of billable modules required pre-start
• Must pass fit testing (facility cannot accommodate PAPR)
• Must reside 50+ miles from facility
• VA or compact license required at time of submittal
• No license or background hits accepted

Facility:

This medical center operates a 28-bed stepdown unit with a daily census of 24-26 patients, providing intermediate care for a variety of patient populations. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. The stepdown unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients with conditions ranging from acute respiratory failure and cardiac events to minor trauma and post-surgical complications.
