Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Must maintain 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for medical surgical unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Must have EPIC charting experience - this is a hard requirement
• Must have New York license in hand to submit - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Candidates must be outside 75 mile radius of facility
• Floating to other units required
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
• Manage respiratory equipment including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Provide non-invasive airway management and maintain isolation precautions
• Specialize in care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders
• Deliver evidence-based care to optimize stroke care during primary prevention and acute care phases
• Complete pre-start modules with up to 5 billable hours for completion

This tertiary care hospital operates 528 staffed beds and features a specialized 39-bed Acute Stroke Unit that combines care for acute stroke patients with other neurological disorders and acute medical patients. The facility utilizes an adjustable acuity delivery of care model and focuses on providing evidence-based care to optimize patient outcomes during critical care phases. The hospital maintains comprehensive emergency response capabilities and interdisciplinary support services.
