Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 night shifts with every other weekend required
• Patient ratios: 1:3-4 days, 1:4 nights, 1:3 weekends
• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when needed
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Floating required to ICU or MS units
• Must have 1 year of nursing experience minimum
• New York license required in hand - no exceptions
• Must live outside 75-mile radius of facility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Provide specialized care including airway management, BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, respiratory care, isolation precautions
• Dress code: any combination of navy and white scrubs
• Pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours total, 5 hours billable)
• Maximum 10 days RTO allowed

This 528-bed tertiary care hospital features a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides evidence-based care to patients from various areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ICU, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for adult acute care patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can provide, with a focus on pulmonary patients and various medical diagnoses. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
