Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts
• 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: CA RN License, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• 12-hour orientation provided
• May float to other units within scope of practice at hospital or to Summit or Herrick Campus
• 1.5-hour notice typically provided before floating with shuttle transportation available
• Provide competent, compassionate and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments within 24 hours of admission
• Administer treatments and medications in a timely manner
• Coordinate care with physicians, family members, and interdisciplinary team
• Manage patients with various diagnoses including medical/surgical conditions
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Work with specialized equipment and procedures including wound care, chest tubes, tracheostomy care
• Handle patients requiring isolation precautions and wound vac management
• May work with informal psych unit patients including those on 5150 holds
• Must provide exceptional patient experience to all patients and families
