RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 nights per week
• Weekdays, every other weekend, holidays within contract required
• Must be willing to float to other units including MS/Tele, ER Holding
• Patient ratios typically 1:4, sometimes 1:5 on stepdown unit
• When floating to med/surg, ratios are 1:6 minimum, sometimes 1:7
• No block scheduling can be accommodated
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS via American Heart Association, NIHSS
• Must be EPIC proficient - no exceptions
• 2+ years of experience required (3+ years preferred), travel experience preferred
• Must have strong neuro experience and skills in vents, IV start, telemetry, PA lines, conscious sedation
• Experience required with neuro IV titration, insulin IV protocols, blood product administration
• Must pass EKG testing with 80% or higher (one attempt only, no remediation)
• Complete 3 hours of pre-start modules (billable)
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for variety of patient populations including pulmonary, cardiac, sepsis, trauma, and surgical patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Virginia or compact license required at time of submittal
• No license or background hits will be considered

Facility:

This medical center operates a 28-bed stepdown unit with a daily census of 24-26 patients, providing intermediate care between intensive care and medical/surgical units. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The stepdown unit treats a diverse patient population with various conditions including respiratory failure, cardiac events, sepsis, and post-surgical complications, maintaining high standards of care with modern equipment and experienced staff.
