RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with guaranteed 3 shifts per contract period
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of recent specialty experience required with full year of in-specialty experience within past 12 months
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities
• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Extensive skills required including: cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post cardiac procedures, IV insulin protocols, central line care, chest tube management, wound care, and more
• Care for medical cardiac step down patients with chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and multiple system diseases
• Work with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 2 professional references required from past year
• Pre-start Epic training modules and infusion pump/glucometer training required

This is a 456-bed tertiary care teaching hospital that has achieved 5-time Magnet recognition and operates as a Level 1 trauma center. The facility maintains high standards of nursing excellence and provides comprehensive specialty services. The organization uses Epic charting system and offers free parking for staff. The PCU unit has 19 beds with a daily census of 18 patients and provides advanced monitoring and care for cardiac step-down patients.
