RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with nights or rotating shifts
• 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2 patient ratios depending on acuity
• Work 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• 24 hours of orientation required
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients
• Unit maintains high census and high acuity
• 2+ years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Pediatric cardiac experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Work with special equipment including ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Care for patients with cardiac conditions (DORV, TOF, HLHS) and medical conditions (TBI, RSV, DKA, trauma, seizures)
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off per contract (cannot approve time off first 2 weeks)
• Virginia license accepted if pending but must be in-hand by Wednesday before start date

Facility:

This academic medical center operates a 25-bed pediatric intensive care unit with a daily census of 23 patients. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services for pediatric patients ranging from neonates to adolescents, specializing in both cardiac and medical intensive care. The unit offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, maintaining high standards for complex pediatric care.
