RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on a fast-paced inpatient surgical unit requiring previous surgical experience
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float to help meet staffing needs as required
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• BLS certification required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Care for patients with general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery diagnoses
• Accept pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on surgical procedure
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Daily census of 18 patients in a 24-bed unit
• Cannot guarantee block scheduling but will attempt to group shifts together when available
• Required skills include blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, PICC line management, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and peripheral IV management
• Holiday coverage required based on RTO policy
• Must complete fit testing and drug screening on day 1
• Zero tolerance policy for THC
