RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours per week available
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients), may go to 1:6 in extreme situations
• Required to float to like units within facility
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks, but staffing needs may require more
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, unit will accept first-time travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required skills: IV start, vents, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Care for patients with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, and pulmonary embolism
• Manage chest tubes, cardiac drips (dopamine, cardizem, heparin), ventilators, trachs, BiPAPs/CPAPs
• Work with chronic trach/vent patients (no more than one vent patient at a time)
• 24-hour unit orientation required
• Scrubs not provided - must wear white or navy blue
• Use Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• NC or Compact license required

The facility maintains high acuity standards with comprehensive support resources including admission/discharge nurses, assistant nurse managers, vascular access teams, rapid response teams, and behavioral health teams. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains modern equipment to handle complex respiratory and cardiac cases with a focus on quality patient care and safety.
