RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Patient ratios of 5 patients during days and nights
• Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13 weeks
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, Compact License
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must have Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license
• Care for patients who have undergone bariatric surgery, urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures, colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients
• Manage post-operative pain control via epidural, PCA, ketamine drips, and lidocaine infusions
• Handle various drains including foley, JP, IR drain, NG tube, chest tube, G-tube, J-tube, and wound vacs
• Required skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, PICC line management, IV placement and maintenance, chest tube management, isolation precautions, and wound care
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with daily census of 20
• Complete compliance requirements including Epic training, infusion pump training, and glucometer training

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a specialized Progressive Care Unit that provides intermediate-level care for patients requiring more intensive monitoring than general medical floors but less than intensive care. The facility focuses on complex surgical cases including bariatric, urological, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and trauma procedures. The unit maintains advanced equipment and protocols for post-operative care management, pain control, and specialized drainage systems to ensure comprehensive patient care.
