Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 3-4 (12 hour) weekend shifts on a 28-day schedule
• Level III NICU primarily caring for Level II babies, growers and feeders at 24-25 weeks
• Nurse to patient ratio is based on acuity, majority of the time 1:3
• Average census is 10 patients with 15 rooms, plus 6 open bays, and an isolation room
• May float to L&D to resuscitate babies until stable and 10 minutes of life
• May float to Pediatrics as an extra set of hands without taking patient assignment
• Charge RN available who does not take patient assignment
• Medical Unit Clerk available during day shifts (not available 11:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Self-scheduling in Women's Services given to staff first, then travelers
• Charting system: Meditech with WOWs provided to each RN
• Medication administration: Pyxis system
• IV Pumps: Solaris
• Any color professional scrubs required, no other facility names or logos permitted
• Orientation offered Mondays only starting with HR, Occupational Health for respiratory fit test, then Nursing Education
• Medication test required first day, complete shift with Clinical Preceptor
• Minimum 2 years experience working in NICU setting required
• Required certifications: California RN license, BLS through American Heart Association, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Must complete Pyxis modules for MedStation ES v1.6 and BD Pyxis Med Link Queue & Waste
