RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on 4Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio per RN
• Provide care for CV surgery and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and vascular procedures
• Care for overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, and other cardiac conditions
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required - candidates without these skills will not be considered
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair)
• CVICU experience preferred
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV glucommander
• Manage cardiac drips including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, and others
• Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
• Use Cerner EMR system
• Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Dress code: All navy scrubs, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• No call requirements
• Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period
• Must be flexible for holiday work
• Ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys fast-paced environments and remains flexible
