Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Required to work 2 out of every 3 holidays
• Must have 3 years of nursing experience - no first time travelers accepted
• Will not accept travel teams or duos
• Required to float to Pediatrics ER as needed
• Must have experience with both pediatric and adult patients (approximately 50% of patient population is pediatric)
• Patient ratios: ICU 1:2, pediatrics 1:4, adults 1:4, procedural sedation 1:1
• Complete 3 orientation shifts on unit plus meet with ER educator
• Basic EKG interpretation test required during orientation
• No block scheduling - must be flexible with scheduling
• Handle all diagnoses from minor walk-ins to critically ill patients including respiratory failure, asthma, abdominal pain, fractures, substance abuse
• Work in STEMI receiving center and stroke alert facility
• Adult ER has 28 stations (18 beds and 10 reclining chairs), Pediatrics ER has 5 beds and 5 reclining chairs
• Approximately 325 visits per day between both ERs, with 30,000 pediatric patients seen annually
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Pediatric ER nurses also need ENPC or CPEN preferred
• Use Cerner charting system
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• BSN not required
