RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit with 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratio depending on acuity
• Downgraded hold-over patients may require 1:3 ratio
• Work with 13 dayshift RNs and 11 nightshift RNs with nurse's aide support on all shifts
• Arrive to unit ready for work no earlier than 7 minutes prior to shift start at 6:45 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Overtime must be approved by CNCs
• Float to all ICUs, stepdown units, and other units as needed
• Perform typical procedures including IABP, Impella, hemodynamics monitoring, patient ambulation, chest tube removal, pacer wire removal, and LVAD care
• Assist with intubation/extubation procedures
• Work with GE monitors and Cerner EMR system
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and critical care training
• Must have 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience
• Preferred certifications in critical care, cardiac surgery, or recovery room care
• Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulder, no fake nails
• Must follow safety protocols requiring second nurse guidance for unfamiliar procedures

This healthcare facility operates a high-acuity cardiovascular intensive care unit located in the Heart Tower, providing specialized cardiac surgical care to approximately 850 heart surgery patients annually. The unit features highly trained CVICU/CVRU charge nurses, dedicated educators for orientation, and specialized teams including ECMO support.
