Opportunity:

RN - ED

Job Details:

• Provide direct patient and family support and nursing care within full scope of practice
• Participate in development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of patient programs and services
• Conduct observation, data collection, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient's physical, psychological, emotional, educational and spiritual needs
• Work collaboratively as member of interdisciplinary team
• Charge Nurse responsibilities include coordinating patient movement throughout department and staff assignments
• Receive pre-arrival reports from EMS and other community partners
• Coordinate with triage nurse regarding walk-in arrivals
• Collaborate with House Supervisor on throughput needs and bed assignments for admissions
• Work closely with department ward clerk, provider staff, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators
• Utilize strong professional communication skills, conflict resolution, time management, and organizational abilities
• Work with nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5:1 depending on acuity
• Support chest pain accredited organization and primary stroke center operations

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive emergency department with 21 monitored beds, 5 psych safe treatment rooms, and 3 hall beds for a total of 29 beds with additional hall beds available as needed. The facility maintains dedicated case management and social work services during business hours seven days per week, along with specialized Crisis Evaluators for mental health assessments. The department features well-trained ED technicians skilled in phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient safety observation, with provider staffing including 3 physicians and 2 physician assistants working each 24-hour period.
