Schedule

• Nights
• 4 x 12-hour shifts
• Shift times: 06:45–19:30 and 18:45–07:30
• Every other weekend
• No call or standby

Unit / Setting

• Clinical Support Unit, Float Pool
• Women’s services float pool covering antepartum, labor & delivery, and postpartum
• May float to any facility in the region within specialty

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience
• Experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, and antepartum
• No first-time travelers
• Ability to titrate drips
• Excellent communication skills

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• PALS
• STABLE
• AWHONN fetal monitoring classes

Clinical Details

• Patient population includes antepartum patients 22+ weeks, and labor & delivery patients with high-risk conditions
• RN does not have to circulate for C-sections
• RN may recover mother and baby independently if NICU is not available to assist postpartum
• RN will do car seat study
• Common drips include Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
• Charge nurse on all units
• No tele techs; if patients are on telemetry, tele techs read the cardiac strips and fetal strips
• PPV only for respiratory equipment support
• OB laborist and neonatologist available 24/7 at one location
• Designated CRNA available 24/7

Orientation

• 4–5 shifts total
• Includes time at Nampa, Meridian, Boise, and partial antepartum at Boise
• Covers labor & delivery, antepartum, and OR

Additional Notes

• Travelers are first to float and may float midshift
• Scrubs are provided
• Safe parking is available
