Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts

Unit Overview

• 28-bed neuro/trauma-focused PCU unit
• Typical patient population includes stroke, seizure, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, and trauma/orthopedic injuries
• Respiratory support equipment on unit includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and ETCO2

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of Med Surg, PCU, or ICU experience
• Recent experience in the setting within the last year
• Drip titration experience

Preferred Experience

• Home trach and vent experience

Scheduling

• Self-scheduling with manager balancing
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Typically 2 of 3 winter holidays, otherwise every other holiday
• No call requirement

Additional Details

• Floating required to sister medical-surgical units and other specialties
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Nurse aides are present on the unit
• Orientation includes 1 general shift and 1 shift with a preceptor
• Open to first-time travelers
• Candidates who have previously worked at the facility must have had an end date at least 6 months before submission
