Location

• Marshfield, Wisconsin

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification (AHA)
• Active PALS certification (AHA)
• 1 year of PICU experience
• Experience with intubated patients, drips, sedations, ICPs, EVDs, and emergency situations
• RN must titrate drips

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Self-scheduling is used; block scheduling is not allowed

Unit Details

• PICU with 8 beds and an average census of 4–5
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• No nurse aides on the unit
• RN reads and interprets strips independently
• Common patient types include respiratory, DKA, trauma, neuro, overdose, suicide, and surgical cases

Floating

• May float to pediatrics
• May float to NICU if experienced
• May float to adult areas as an observer depending on census

Additional Notes

• TNCC is preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked there before, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
