Location

• Martinsburg, West Virginia

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Unit Overview

• Medical-surgical ortho/neuro unit with 21 beds
• Telemetry monitored remotely
• Floating may include other medical-surgical units, but not the ED or Behavioral Health

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Rotating holidays as needed
• Block scheduling may be allowed if included in the contract

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• NIHSS
• Unexpired driver’s license copy required at submission
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and ability to recognize fatal rhythms
• Must be able to work with telemetry monitoring, but does not read strips

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Clinical Setting

• Common patient types include post-op orthopedic/neuro cases, seizures, brain stimulator cases, traction patients, and med-surg overflow
• Vent support may include BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow
• IV drips are limited to Heparin or Protonix and are not titrated

Orientation

• 1 shift with a preceptor
• Net Learning modules and EPIC training included

Submission Notes

• Only one submission at a time across the WVU system
• Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year must have been gone for 2 years
• Background hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Up to 2 candidates may be submitted per opening
