Med/Tele 2N RN

Location

Savannah, Georgia

Assignment Overview

10-bed regional admissions Med/Tele unit
23 beds
12-hour nights, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS
ACLS
Minimum 2 years of experience
At least 1 previous travel assignment
Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
Must be able to titrate drips

Unit Details

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4, sometimes 1:5
Common titratable drips include Heparin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
Monitor techs are on the unit; RNs are expected to interpret rhythms
Nurse aides are on the unit, ratio 1:10
Respiratory equipment includes nasal cannulas, BiPap, and High Flow NC; no vents

Schedule

Self-scheduling is allowed
Block scheduling is allowed
Every other weekend required
Holidays required unless approved RTO
No call or standby requirement

Float Scope

Rare float to Neurosurgical PCU with the same ratios

Dress Code

Navy scrubs

Orientation

One day of computer skills/basic orientation
