Description

Respiratory Therapist

Location

  • Fargo, North Dakota

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Specialty / Unit

  • RRT - Specialty NICU/PICU
  • Unit includes level IV NICU, Peds ICU, Peds, Adult ICU, intermediate Adult ICU, adult GF, ER, and OR/PACU

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapist experience
  • Experience with NICU and/or PICU patient population
  • Level 4 NICU experience, including high frequency ventilation (Jet & HFOV), nitric oxide, high-risk deliveries, and gestational ages 22 weeks and above
  • Ventilator experience down to micro preemies in a level 4 NICU
  • ND state license or willingness to apply within 72 hours of acceptance of offer
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP
  • PALS (AHA)
  • RRT via NBRC; CRT considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adult experience
  • ACLS

Schedule

  • Rotating shifts
  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays
  • 8- and 12-hour shifts
  • May consider weekend or straight night status
  • Opportunity to pick up extra shifts

Floating / Coverage

  • Inpatient respiratory therapy care at SMCF
  • May train to BDWY or SU campus if there are needs

Unit Details

  • Typical shift staffing includes a charge in adult and children's, plus 6-14 other RTs
  • NICU typically has 2-4 NICU RTs per shift
  • Peds/PICU typically has 1-3 Pediatric RTs per shift
  • Clinicians badge in and out
  • Scrub color: Steel Gray for Peds/PICU or blue hospital-provided scrubs for NICU

Training / Orientation

  • Lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with unit RTs

Additional Notes

  • Epic is used for documentation
  • Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local rate
  • Previous Sanford Health clinicians must have an end date 6 months prior to submission
