• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin

• Hours per shift: 12
• Hours per week: 48

Required Qualifications

• BLS (AHA)
• Acute care experience
• Experience with drips
• Must be comfortable managing and titrating drips as needed
• RN required to titrate drips
• Must be able to clock in and out at the facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel experience

Unit Details

• Department: Med Tele RN - 8N
• 27 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Day/Eve 1:4-5; Night 1:6, with possible higher ratios if short staffed
• Common patient types include oncology/hematology, general medical, GI bleed, PE/DVT, sepsis, CHF/COPD, pneumonia, FTT, and weakness
• No oncology or chemotherapy knowledge required
• Centralized tele techs monitor and read strips; nurses are not required to read their own strips
• RT is in house 24/7 and may support continuous CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow O2
• Charge nurse and House Supervisor are on all shifts
• Charge nurse takes a modified patient assignment
• Nurse aides are present
• Orientation includes 1 day of computer training/cbt/regulatory plus one 12-hour shift on the floor

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend
• 2 of 3 winter holidays, and every other holiday during other times
• No call or standby requirement
• First to float within med-surg units; may float outside med-surg only for observer need or helping hands/tasking
• Floating occurs in 4-hour increments
• Schedule is made by the scheduler, with requests considered but block scheduling not guaranteed
• Day shift options may include 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, or a variable days/eves schedule
• Night shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 80 miles are subject to a reduced local rate
• Will not take travel pairs or part of a travel pair
• Scrubs: any color, but no logo from other health systems
