Overview
We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a busy pediatric hospital. This position requires a dedicated professional to provide respiratory care in various settings, including the Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Assignment Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 13 weeks with the possibility of extension
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
- Floating required to sister facilities
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
- One holiday required
- Minimal to no Request Time Off (RTO)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients, including managing ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Assess patients' respiratory status and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in triage and manage care in high-pressure environments such as the ED and ICU.
- Assist in the care of critically ill patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with proof of certification.
- Valid GA Respiratory Care Professional license is required.
- Completion of a relevant diploma or associate's degree program with RRT credentials.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RRT experience, particularly in pediatrics.
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience is required.
- Recent travel experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with EPIC charting is required.
- Knowledge and experience with the following equipment is required: V-60, Servo-i, Drager, Hamilton T-1, Vapotherm, Optiflow.
Skills
- Intermediate/Advanced skills in respiratory therapy.
- Ability to participate effectively in triage situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
