Position Summary: Under the direction of the Radiologist, the Registered CT Technologist performs all required radiographic procedures, including X-rays and fluoroscopy in various settings, such as the operating room. This role demands independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnoses. The technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures and is vital in operating the computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.

Position Responsibilities:

• Transport patients according to their physical abilities related to the exams requested.
• Utilize positioning aids as needed to ensure quality patient examinations.
• Operate all CT-associated equipment effectively.
• Protect patients in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Administer contrast media as ordered by the Radiologist.
• Assist in the performance of special procedures.
• Practice sterile technique and follow Universal Precautions.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Clean rooms after each examination to uphold hygiene standards.
• Restock linen and supplies as necessary to support operational efficiency.

Required Education & Experience:

• Minimum of two years of previous experience preferred.
• Completion of formal radiology technology training from an AMA-approved institution.
• Current registration as a CT Technologist by the ARRT is required.
• BLS Certification is required.

Physical Demands:

The position requires considerable walking, standing, bending, and squatting. The role involves reaching forward and overhead, with some sitting and climbing. Moving and lifting patients and equipment (40 to 80 lbs. unassisted and up to 250 lbs. with assistance) is essential. Manual dexterity to start an IV and the ability to hear, identify, and respond to equipment prompts and alarms are also necessary. Effective verbal communication with patients is a critical component of this role.

Shift Information:

Weekend shift: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - 3/12s. Holiday coverage is required.
