Shift Notes

This position operates on a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Friday, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. No weekend work is required.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs various computed tomography procedures. The role involves operating CT and radiography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images and assisting physicians during examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and set up all computed tomography, data processing, and ancillary equipment required for procedures.
• Calculate and select proper techniques and protocols while employing ALARA principles to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Assist physicians during procedures with necessary medical equipment and administration of contrast materials and medications, adhering to sterile techniques when applicable.
• Transfer image data to PACS and V-RAD systems for physician review and interpretation.
• Maintain accurate records and technical notations for regulatory compliance, ensuring completeness and correctness.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, managing supplies needed for specific procedures.
• Collect blood samples and establish IV lines according to established protocols.
• Assist in the scheduling and workflow of CT examinations to optimize equipment and personnel utilization.
• Instruct radiologic technology students and other personnel on the operation and theory behind CT equipment as part of the formal teaching and in-service programs.
• Perform clerical tasks, such as retrieving radiographic film records, filing, answering phones, and patient registration and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a CT Technologist.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• National registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure in Maryland.
• Required vaccinations (Flu and COVID, with no declinations accepted).
• Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
