Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and adult critical care experience for a night shift travel position at a Level II Trauma Center acute care hospital.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center with 431 staffed beds
  • Primary assignment in the NICU, with rotation to adult floors, adult ICU, ED, and pediatric units based on facility needs
  • NICU assignments vary based on patient acuity — this is not a NICU-only position
  • Responsibilities include airway management, medication administration, ABG draws and analysis, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP/CPAP management, and nebulizer treatments
  • Provides aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies
  • Charting in Epic
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
  • Potential for mandatory on-call: up to 2 shifts per month
  • Floating within scope to other units required to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling considered at manager's discretion

Requirements

  • BLS and ACLS required (ACLS may be pending at start with up to 90 days from start date to obtain)
  • CRTT required
  • VA state license required, or proof of VA license application submitted along with another state license (national license is not accepted) — license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Experience required in: airway management, medication administration, ABG draws and analysis, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP/CPAP, and nebulizers
  • Adult critical care, ED, and community hospital work setting experience required
  • NRP preferred
  • RRT preferred
  • NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
  • All time off and scheduling requests must be noted at time of initial consideration

  • RTO is granted at manager's discretion
  • Attendance at monthly department meetings is expected when scheduled; if not working, candidate must review meeting minutes and send written acknowledgment to management
