Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-volume Level 2 trauma center with a 13-week night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a large hospital setting
• 101-bed unit serving a diverse, multi-cultural patient population
• Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral holds in the ED
• Technicians, cardiac monitoring staff, internal processing, and unit clerks provide support on all shifts
• Use Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Electronic charting with Cerner is required
• Schedule is 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including every other weekend
• No floating outside of the ED, but flexibility to float within all ED sections is required
• Deliver care according to AIDET and patient experience protocols, keeping patients informed and respected
• Must wear navy scrubs as the required uniform
• Known for strong teamwork and a welcoming, diverse staff
• Must be open and willing to serve a multi-cultural community with more than 120 languages spoken
• Attendance policy and unit-specific guidelines provided on day one

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS before start; ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in the ER setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits/year)
• Teamwork mentality and ability to coach and give real-time feedback
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
