Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a postpartum/mother baby unit with current DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a postpartum/mother baby unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes vaginal delivery, C-section, and gynecological surgery cases
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, working three days per week
• Must be available for 13-week assignment
• No on-call responsibilities are listed
• Provide safe, competent nursing care for postpartum, newborn, and post-surgical GYN patients
• Serve as a professional leader and resource to the healthcare team
• Adhere to patient-centered care principles and service excellence standards
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members
• Must live at least 25 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted or restricted

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum two years recent postpartum/mother baby experience in a US hospital required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly preferred
• Two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months are preferred, including one from the most recent employer
• Social Security Number required for consideration
• CPI certification mandated for this position
