Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU night shift position requiring prior travel assignment completion and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed ICU (2NW Advanced Care/CCU) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, blood product administration, bipap, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and some surgical/vascular/abdominal/GI cases
• Typical ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1, with occasional 1:1 for high acuity
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Travelers may float to Telemetry, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units with float priority given to travelers
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
• No on-call required
• RNs review and chart on telemetry strips as part of daily responsibilities
• Support staff includes CNAs, HUC, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and telemetry techs present 24/7
• Intensivist on site during the day with after-hours on-call coverage
• Two hospital/unit orientation shifts provided after a general new employee orientation
• Professional attire required; any color scrubs are permitted
• Employee parking is available at no charge
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license is required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum two years of ICU RN experience required
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Proficiency with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral sheath monitoring
• Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and IABP
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
