Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a Massachusetts license and strong MICU background for rotating day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center
• Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as substance abuse, psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity in ICU, and up to 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units with telemetry competency necessary
• Rotating shifts required, with possible day, evening, and night shifts including every other weekend
• EPIC is the charting system used
• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24/7 for support
• No pending Massachusetts RN licenses accepted for this assignment
• Local candidates within 60 miles of Boston are accepted but at a reduced rate
• Parking may require use of public transportation or lots with daily fees
• Timekeeping is managed via UKG/Kronos system

Requirements

• Active, non-conditional Massachusetts RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from an approved provider (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum of 3 years general ICU experience required
• At least 2 years of continuous MICU experience in one location
• Ability to accurately read telemetry strips
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
