Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CT Technologist for an acute care setting with strong CT and X-ray skills and active ARRT CT certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting within both CT and General Radiology departments
- Department equipped with 2 Siemens 128-slice CT scanners, 5 Carestream DR portables, 1 DR Rad room, and OEC c-arms
- Performs a variety of CT studies including strokes, traumagrams, head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis scans, as well as general X-rays and c-arm cases
- Approximately 100 combined CT and X-ray exams performed per day
- EMR system is Cerner with Merge PACS for image archiving
- Evening shifts, 8 hours in length, from 5 PM to 1:30 AM with every other weekend required
- Candidates will be expected to float between CT and X-ray as needed
- No requirement to start IVs as RNs are present in the department
- Three days of department-specific orientation provided
- Blue scrubs are required for OR and are provided onsite, turquoise scrubs are required for the main department
- 3 team leads available during the day, 2 in the evenings, and 1 at night for support
- Radiologist is available onsite from 8 AM to 6 PM
- No call or holiday coverage required
- Candidates must provide two professional references, including one recent supervisor reference
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
- Candidates who have worked in any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year are not eligible
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent experience as a CT Technologist, with at least 1 year specifically in CT
- ER or hospital setting experience is required
- Active ARRT (CT and X-ray), BLS, LA City Fire & Safety, California Diagnostic Radiologic Technology, and Fluoroscopy certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with Siemens CT scanners and Carestream DR equipment is preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a trauma center environment
