Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift pediatrics float pool position requiring Level I experience, a compact or Oklahoma RN license, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Float pool assignment within a hospital setting covering pediatric units
  • Night shift schedule with holiday and weekend requirements
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Assignment duration is 13 weeks
  • Responsible for delivering pediatric nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, from routine to complex
  • Will float between pediatric units as needed
  • Duties include monitoring patient data, administering medication and IVs, assisting with minor procedures, and documenting care provided
  • Communication with patients' families regarding care plans and discharge instructions is required
  • Delegation of tasks to support staff is expected
  • Holiday and weekend shifts are mandatory
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Must comply with hospital policies and participate in a team-oriented environment

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a valid compact RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications issued by the AHA
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
