Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring an OK or compact RN license and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatrics Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Care for pediatric patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• 12-hour day shifts, with weekends and holidays required
• Assignment is 13 weeks in length with 36 hours per week
• No local candidates accepted due to a 50-mile radius rule
• Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, performing minor procedures, and interacting with families regarding care plans
• Delegation to support staff as appropriate
• Must be able to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Assignment requires coverage on holidays and weekends
• Extensions are limited to one per contract, with a maximum of 26 weeks before a 6-month separation is required

Requirements

• Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC)
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Some computer skills required
