Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Massachusetts requiring recent Level 1 or Level 2 ED experience and active TNCC, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a high-volume Adult Emergency Department with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350-440 patients per day
- Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 depending on acuity
- Required to work 12-hour rotating shifts (7a-7:30p, 11a-11:30p, 3p-3:30a) including every other weekend and holiday
- Must be flexible to float to Psych ED and Pediatric ED (caring for age 15+ in Pedi ED unless previous pediatric experience)
- Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms
- Role involves providing emergency care for a diverse adult patient population
- Must be able to cover all assigned shifts and shift rotations as designated by the unit
- Preference given to those with prior travel or critical care experience
- Required to complete and pass Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia testing as part of orientation
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers with the exception of specified units
- Information regarding parking and related fees is available to candidates
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current and unexpired TNCC, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience or 2+ years of recent Level 3/4 ED experience
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
- Must pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 with a score of at least 85%
- At least 18 months of recent specialty experience
- Level 1 trauma hospital experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Two manager-level performance references required, one within the last 12 months and the other within the last 3 years
