Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Massachusetts requiring Level I or II ED experience and ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in an adult Emergency Department serving a high-volume patient population
- Shift is 12 hours, nights, 7:00pm-7:30am with every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Patient ratio is 1:4-5, depending on patient acuity
- Must be flexible with floating to Psych ED and Pedi ED, caring for age 15+ patients in pedi unless previous pediatric experience
- Travelers will not be placed in trauma rooms
- Work in a very busy ED with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350-440 patients daily
- Teamwork and flexibility to float between multiple ED areas are essential
- Travelers required to complete holiday rotations
- Parking fees may apply; details available locally
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers, with some exceptions in other departments
- Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided upon assignment
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC must be active
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 (score 85% or higher)
- Two professional references required, including one manager-level reference with performance evaluation
- Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test, may be taken only twice
- EPIC experience, previous travel assignments, and critical care experience preferred
