Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Massachusetts requiring Level I or II ED experience and ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an adult Emergency Department serving a high-volume patient population
  • Shift is 12 hours, nights, 7:00pm-7:30am with every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Patient ratio is 1:4-5, depending on patient acuity
  • Must be flexible with floating to Psych ED and Pedi ED, caring for age 15+ patients in pedi unless previous pediatric experience
  • Travelers will not be placed in trauma rooms
  • Work in a very busy ED with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350-440 patients daily
  • Teamwork and flexibility to float between multiple ED areas are essential
  • Travelers required to complete holiday rotations
  • Parking fees may apply; details available locally
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers, with some exceptions in other departments
  • Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided upon assignment

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC must be active
  • Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 (score 85% or higher)
  • Two professional references required, including one manager-level reference with performance evaluation
  • Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test, may be taken only twice
  • EPIC experience, previous travel assignments, and critical care experience preferred
