Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric RN with at least 2 years of pediatric and trach/vent experience for a rotating day/night shift position.
Responsibilities
- Position is on a Pediatric unit in a hospital setting
- Provides care for pediatric patients with diagnoses including prematurity, AOP, ROP, BLD/CLD, cardiac defects, feeding issues, NAS, and iatrogenic NAS
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, up to 1:4 for lower acuity cases
- Utilizes specialized equipment including trach/vents, PICCs/central lines, and administers TPN/IL
- Rotating schedule of 12-hour day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:30–7:30) shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled
- Floating may be required within specialty or sister pediatric units
- No on-call requirement
- Care for a diverse pediatric patient population with varied and complex conditions
- Training on unit-specific equipment and patient care protocols provided as needed
- Team-based environment with support from other pediatric professionals
- Holiday coverage required per departmental guidelines
- Professional attire or hospital scrubs required per unit policy
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and CPI certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Previous trach/vent experience required
- First-time travelers will be considered
