Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York requiring an active NY license and proficiency with EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and receiving cardiac pharmacologic interventions
• Night shift schedule, four 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratios are 1:5 (up to 1:7 for Med/Surg)
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday if needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Floating required within skillset to similar units
• Responsibilities include management of cardiac and post-interventional patients, emergency response, and advanced monitoring
• Staff may be required to float to similar units as needed
• Any combination of navy blue and white scrubs is permitted
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Must be available to work scheduled holidays as assigned

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required at time of application
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in MS/Tele settings required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols
• Competency with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac
• EPIC EMR experience required
