Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York with charge experience and strong Epic skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, four 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, if needed
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• EMR in use is Epic; prior experience with Epic is required
• Floating within skillset may be required
• Must wear navy blue and white scrubs
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted with initial application
• Team members expected to float to similar units based on skillset

Requirements

• Active New York single state RN license required; pending or compact licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience, with recent acute care experience within the past 6 months
• BLS certification required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and rapid response activation
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management skills required
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
