Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York with a current NY RN license and proficiency in Epic required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital
• Unit has 26 beds specializing in post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:7
• Night (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00) and Day (3x12 hours, 07:00–19:00) shifts available
• Uses Epic EMR
• Not open to local candidates within a 75-mile radius
• Care for patients post PCI, pacemaker and AICD placements, post myocardial infarction, and with cardiac medications
• Expected to respond to rapid response and code team calls as needed
• Must wear navy and white scrubs
• Maximum of 3 called-off shifts allowed per 13-week assignment
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to consideration

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response, and code teams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and respiratory management skills required
• Familiarity with isolation precautions
