Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with at least 2 years of experience and an active or pending DC RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on the third floor of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week: 6:00-18:30 or 9:00-21:30
• No on-call or weekend shift requirements
• May float to the main OR if census requires
• Local candidates within 60 miles are considered at the local rate
• Primary responsibilities include caring for post-anesthesia patients, administering blood products, and overseeing safe recovery
• Must be able to float to the main OR as needed
• No weekend or on-call duties are required for this position
• Teamwork and effective communication skills are important for successful patient care

Requirements

• Active DC RN license or proof of pending status at time of consideration; license must be in hand prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of general PACU nursing experience, including administration of blood products, infection control, specimen handling and labeling, and general PACU procedures
• Successful completion of the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Annual flu vaccination required
