Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and recent ER experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Emergency Care Center of a hospital setting
Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
13-week contract assignment
Patient population consists of emergency and acute care cases
Responsibilities include providing nursing care to emergency department patients across all age groups
Candidate must provide documentation including SSN and date of birth for consideration
Orientation and training provided upon start
Dress code and additional requirements may be provided prior to start date

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required
Minimum of 1 year recent ER experience
Current AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required with no expiration within the first 30 days of assignment
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or equivalent certification required for ER units
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the last 12 months

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital

Cons

Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
