Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a dual-modality CT Technologist with ARRT R & CT certification and NY state license to perform CT scans and X-rays in an orthopedic hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a specialty orthopedic hospital covering exam rooms, private sector locations, and potentially multiple departments
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with both inpatients and outpatients
• Daily caseload of up to 20 patients
• Perform orthopedic CT and X-ray exams including extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, musculoskeletal, lower/upper extremities
• CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
• Experience with Siemens equipment required
• Schedule is evening shift: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 2:30 PM to Midnight (4x9.5 hour shifts with 30-minute lunch)
• Initial 2-week orientation on Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Patients seen in inpatient, outpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
• Must be able to rotate between departments or private sector location as needed
• Responsible for both CT scans and X-ray procedures in orthopedic and trauma populations
• Training/orientation provided in the first two weeks
• Rotations may include assignments in multiple departments including private sector locations
• Evening shift with weekends required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Scrub color requirement is charcoal grey
• No more than 5 days of RTO permitted; time off not allowed in first 2 weeks
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning staff must have a break of at least 1 year

Requirements

• Current BLS, ARRT R, ARRT CT, NY state license, and IV certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent CT technologist experience required
• Must be able to operate Siemens imaging equipment
• Experience with portable radiography required
• Preferred but not required: experience with Epic EMR
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices
• COVID vaccination required; no exceptions
• License required if applicable
