Description

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) night shift position in California, requiring a CA RN license and recent ICU experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a CVICU setting within a hospital environment
Primarily cares for cardiovascular ICU patients
12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
13-week assignment
EMR system used is Epic
All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
Contingent workers may not exceed two years of assignment without a 90-day break
COVID and flu vaccination documentation may be required

Requirements

Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum 1 year of recent (within last 3 years) full-time equivalent ICU experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Last four digits of SSN and date of birth must be provided
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
Preferred: 1 year of experience in progressive or intermediate care unit

Patient ratios are great. Pay is god

Cons

Travelers can not trade shifts with staff. No flexibility with scheduling. Almost daily assignment changes with shift due to staff working 8 hrs and travelers work 12. Traveler often set up to fail based on very strange order sets and minimal orientation. Must go in with tough skin.
