Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Oncology/Hematology clinic position with day shifts and pediatric hematology/oncology experience required.

Responsibilities

Outpatient ambulatory pediatric oncology/hematology clinic setting
Cares for pediatric patients 18 and younger, with some rare adult cases with pediatric-specific diagnoses
20-bed Neuro/Oncology Clinic with an average daily census of 70-100 across all clinics
Works 10-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, four days per week
No on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements; clinic is closed on holidays
Floating required between disease-specific clinics within the department
Uses Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
Primary responsibilities include providing specialized nursing care to pediatric oncology and hematology patients
Administrative nursing tasks and order preparation are part of the daily duties
Multi-disciplinary team support includes physicians, APPs, CMAs, LPNs, nurse navigators, social workers, pharmacists, admin staff, and a Child Life team
Charge nurse present for additional support
Two days of unit orientation provided upon hire
Required to wear navy blue scrubs

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric hematology/oncology RN experience required
Experience with port access, central line dressing changes, PIV, and phlebotomy required
APHON certification preferred but not required

Pros

Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
