Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in a Level III trauma center requiring Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certification, and strong MICU background.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a Level III Trauma Center
• Rotating Medical ICU (MICU) with floating required primarily to Med/Surg units
• Care for a wide range of critically ill adult patients, including those with overdoses, psychiatric conditions, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and shock
• Night shifts from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
• RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 in high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Telemetry competency and ability to interpret tele strips required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Parking may require use of public lots with daily fees; no validated parking provided
• First time travelers considered if all requirements are met
• Permanent local candidates accepted but must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to avoid adjusted pay rates
• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered MA RN license (no pending or conditional licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 3 years recent general ICU experience
• At least 2 years of continuous ICU/MICU experience in one location required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification through AHA or accepted providers
• Ability to float to Med/Surg and demonstrate telemetry competency
