Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a rotating day and evening position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring a MA RN license and strong MICU background.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center
• Care for adult patients with conditions including substance abuse, psychiatric emergencies, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• Rotating shifts between days, evenings, and nights with every other weekend required
• Floating required to medical-surgical units with potential for assignments up to 4 or 5 patients
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 in ICU; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg
• Uses Epic EMR
• Staff must be flexible to float between ICU and medical-surgical units based on staffing needs
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Day rotators may be assigned any shift including 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a as needed
• Local candidates must have a permanent residence at least 60 miles from the facility to receive standard pay rates
• Parking is not validated; public parking rates or public transportation may apply

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required; conditional licenses not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of general ICU experience required
• At least 2 years of continuous MICU experience in one location required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competence in reading telemetry strips required
• Epic charting experience preferred
