Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting on the Surgical/Transplant unit
• Cares for diverse surgical and transplant patient populations
• Day shift position working 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care for assigned groups of patients
• Documents patient responses to interventions and notes all changes in physician orders
• Assists with examinations and minor procedures as needed
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Works with patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• A 50-mile radius rule is in effect; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
• Work is performed under general supervision with a team-oriented approach

Requirements

• Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year professional RN experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
