Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PCU of a hospital caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes long-term pulmonary, ENT surgery, and step-down surgical cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3x12 hours per week
• Epic EMR experience required
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
• Floating required within skillset to similar units
• Scrub colors are any combination of navy blue and white
• Isolation precautions are followed according to patient needs
• First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
• RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Requests for time off or special scheduling must be submitted with the initial application

Requirements

• Active NY single state RN license required; compact licenses not accepted
• Minimum one year of recent PCU, telemetry, or step-down unit experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response required
• Skills in management of dysrhythmias, rapid response/code teams, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and central/peripheral line care required
• Experience administering cardiac drips (no titration) and blood products
• IV therapy and phlebotomy experience required
