Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position, requiring Epic experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Night shifts are 4x12 hours from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6, flexing to 1:7 if needed due to absences
• Every other weekend is required
• PRN low census on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to like units and sister facilities as necessary
• Uses Epic for electronic medical records
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking available
• Responsible for providing care to medical surgical patients including telemetry and insulin management
• Expected to participate in emergency response during hurricane season from June through November
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Not accepting candidates who live within a 60-mile radius
• Required to complete hospital modules before starting
• All requested time off must be included with application and is subject to approval based on facility needs
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license in hand prior to start
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 years of previous RN experience preferred
• Experience with Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, insulin administration, and rapid response
• AHA certifications only
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year
